2005 Ford Escape

The 2005 Ford Escape is the first sport utility vehicle to offer a hybrid model in the lineup. The hybrid version has an estimated 75% improvement in fuel economy over the non-hybrid version. With the 2.3L Inline-4 Hybrid engine, it is capable of an absolutely astonishing 33mpg in the city and 29mpg on the highway, while still delivering excellent power ratings of 133HP and 124FTLB of torque.

The engine features a Double-Over-Head-Cam design and power is routed to either the front-wheels or all four wheels via the 4-speed automatic transmission which provides a smooth-as-glass ride for occupants as well as added safety and security with the 103” wheel-base tires and improved seat belt and air-bag systems added.

The 2005 Ford Escape represents Ford’s move towards greatness with the sport utility brand, with innovation at the for-front of design.
