A complete reworking of the exterior has brought the 2008 Ford Escape into the next generation of compact Sport Utility Vehicles (SUV). Standard features this year include a brand new Electronic Stability Control system for added safety and security, in addition to the optional All-Wheel-Drive platform. The 2008 Ford Escape comes in three engine flavors:
2.3L Inline-4 producing 153HP and 152FTLB of torque
3.0L V-6 with 200HP and 193FTLB of torque
2.3L Inline-4 Hybrid pushing 155HP and 124FTLB of torque
Gas mileage for the 2008 Ford Escape varies greatly among which model chosen and whether or not the platform is Front-Wheel-Drive or All-Wheel-Drive. The highest non-hybrid EPA-estimated gas rating is 28MPG on the highway, while the Hybrid gets an astonishing 34MPG in the city with the 2.3L Inline-4.
